Text Box: Poynter Agencies Ltd started business in 1992. The managing director, Rick Poynter has around 30 years experience as a plastics raw materials supplier. In 1992, DSM Petrochemicals and Poynter Agencies signed a new agency agreement which applied until SABIC acquired DSM’s petrochemicals business in the early 2000s. The majority of the business is with film and other extrusion processes and will continue to benefit from SABIC’s ongoing investment in new capacity, new acquisitions, new technology and more comprehensive forms of supply. The DSM Engineering Plastics business was not part of the SABIC acquisition and the existing agreement between DSM Engineering Plastics and Poynter Agencies, continues. This business focuses on the production of tough coextruded barrier films. In 1993, Poynter Agencies established an informal developmental relationship with the PLA development arm of Cargill Inc. That was commercialized in 2002 and now operates as NatureWorks LLC. Poynter Agencies Ltd was formally appointed NatureWorks LLC agent for Australia and New Zealand in 2002. NatureWorks’ vision is to produce plastics today in a way that doesn’t compromise the earth’s ongoing sustainability. Poynter Agencies bases its business methods on simplicity and effectiveness. We try to anticipate the customer’s requirements as far as possible and believe that prompt accurate and effective communications are vital to the success of our business. We use state of the art information and communications technology to provide a mobile office system that is very functional. We aim to achieve the highest levels of service at minimal overhead cost to add value to our relationships with customers and principals.
